Adventure tour company Off the Map Travel offers guests interested in viewing the Northern Lights new experiences for 2017. Tours highlight the culture, adventure and cuisine of the Arctic region, all with opportunities to experience the stunning Northern Lights.
- The Aurora Bubble Sled (December 2016–March 2017): Explore Finland via a one-of-a-kind experience in a bubble sled. The transparent, heated bubble with room for two is pulled behind a snowmobile through the heart of the wilderness.
- Arctic Ice Adventure (December 2016–March 2017): Learn how to build an igloo and ice fish in Sweden. An igloo serves as the accommodation for guests.
- Taste of the Arctic (December 2016–March 2017): This tour highlights the culinary experiences of the Arctic with a four-course meal cooked over an open fire. Learn about the local food sources and hunting practices while sampling traditional delicacies.
- VIP Aurora Borealis Tour (December 2016–March 2017): Experience Aurora Borealis like a VIP. The Lapland itinerary includes dogsled driving, ice fishing, reindeer sledding, a snowmobile safari and luxury accommodations.
- Sami Arctic Experience (December 21, 2016–March 2017): Learn about the Sami people of Lapland on a journey through culture, food, history and myths of the region. Guests stay in a traditional Sami lavvu tepee.
- ICEHOTEL 365 (December 21, 2016; June 21, 2017; December 21, 2017): Stay in a suite made entirely of ice on the longest (June) and shortest (December) days of the year.
