The thought of traveling with family is horrifying for a lot of adults. There’s so much opportunity for bickering and nobody wants to feel like they have to be on their best behavior while trying to have fun. Siblings, though, are a great option for travel partners.
It’s Bonding
Whether you already have a great relationship with your brother or sister or you can barely stand each other, traveling is a great way to become closer. It affords you the opportunity to interact without your parents looking over your shoulder, which can really change the dynamics.
You Think Alike
Some of us might loathe to admit it, but siblings tend to be a lot alike. Our hobbies might be different, but we usually are raised with the same set of values. Siblings are more likely to want to do a lot of the same things in the same manner so you won’t constantly argue over where to go and what to eat.
You Know Each Other
After spending at least 18 years in the same home, you probably know each other’s quirks pretty well. This just means you won’t have to explain when you need some time alone — your sib will know before it happens.
They’re a Piece of Home
Traveling can make a person homesick quickly, but with a sibling along that’s less likely to happen — you have a piece of home right there with you. You’ll never feel like a stranger in your hotel room with your brother or sister right there beside you.
