Flightnetwork put together a list of the world’s 50 best beaches, but they’re not all in tropical places.
The list stretches from the northern reaches of coastal Norway to the Caribbean and South Pacific, and includes adventurous destinations along with stunning places where one can sip a boozy drink and enjoy pristine waters with ample sunshine.
The list was compiled after surveying 600 travel writers, editors, bloggers and agencies, and each winning pick includes information from one of these experts on why it was chosen.
Some of the winners include Grace Bay in the Caribbean archipelago of Turks and Caicos, Whitehaven Beach in Australia and Anse Lazio in The Seychelles.
The United States had the largest number of beaches included in the list, with six making the cut, and Hawai’i to thank for the honor, as five listed are in the Pacific Ocean state, while only one is on the mainland.
