Air France recently announced plans for a new discount carrier geared toward the millennial traveler. Joon aims to attract a younger clientele with low fares, a casual atmosphere and a variety of amenities and perks.
Joon has a low-key vibe, right down to the flight attendants’ smart casual uniforms of polo shirts, t-shirts and white sneakers. The carrier will feature an economy- and business-class cabin. Seats across all cabins boast a power outlet for charging your devices. Passengers in the economy cabin can enjoy free beverages as well as meals to purchase. Business-class passengers receive warm pastries for breakfast, full meals at lunch and dinner and a selection of alcoholic beverages. For intercontinental flights, passengers across both cabins receive a meal. For in-flight entertainment, Joon will offer a selection of television shows, videos from RedBullTV and ViceLand and online content.
In addition to onboard offerings, Joon partners with travel companies like Airbnb, TravelCar, BHV Marais and Waynabox to provide discounts and other insider deals. Passengers can earn and use miles from Air France’s frequent-flyer program when traveling with Joon.
Joon will begin service from Paris (CDG) to Barcelona (BCN), Berlin (BER), Lisbon (LIS) and Porto (OPO) Dec. 1, with intercontinental flights to Brazil and the Seychelles taking flight in May 2018.
