American Express recently released its 2023 Trending Destinations report, predicting the most popular destinations for the upcoming year based on American Express card member travel purchases. The brand’s top 10 destinations for 2023? It predicts the following will be the places to go in the coming months: Copenhagen, Denmark; the Florida Keys; Istanbul, Turkey; Lisbon, Portugal; Mexico City, Mexico; Montenegro; Paris, France; Sydney, Australia; Woodstock, Vermont; and Yakuve Island, Fiji.
However, American Express didn’t just look at the trending destinations among its cardholders. The company also looked at other trends and habits set to play a role in travel in 2023. American Express found the majority of travelers are keen to visit “wish list” destinations in the next year. Some of the key factors travelers are taking into consideration when booking trips include the need to escape routine and enhance wellbeing. Many plan to spend more on travel in 2023, while others are already actively planning summer 2023 vacations.
Want to visit one of American Express’s top trending destinations for 2023 but not sure where to start planning? American Express travel consultants can provide three-day itineraries for each of the 10 destinations, with recommendations on where to stay, eat and shop.
