Technology has long surpassed books on tape, but we still love a good story to be portable. The AudioBooks website and mobile application allows readers to take a new or old favorite book wherever they go. Much like in a bookstore, readers can browse a long list of titles and authors preview some books of interest.
Audible is another great way to get a good book in, even on the go. There are helpful suggestions for those who need direction, best sellers and staff picks. Many of the audio books are narrated by notable celebrities, comedians and authors all adding life and depth to the story.
Both websites offer the first book free and after which a membership is $14.95 a month. The books purchased are available on the device as long as the reader wants them and each site and app offers weekly sale books to choose from as well as new releases and classics.
We don’t always have a minute to sit down with a good book — sometimes we need to run errands, which is what makes audio reading so useful. While traveling, in the car or at the gym, audio has made a comeback.
