Breathtaking views stretch for miles in New Mexico’s vast landscape and picturesque deserts. The red rocks and open plains serve as the perfect backdrop for their world-famous hot air balloon festivals and rallies.
The beauty of New Mexico is already enough cause for a trip, but the balloon festivities are another great excuse to go there. The Sangre de Cristo mountains host 20 balloons for the Balloons Over Angel Fire event with accompanying live music, a charity golf tournament and a seriously competitive mountain bike race.

There are ballooning events all year in New Mexico, some with special events like Native American arts and crafts at the Red Rock Balloon Rally or the balloon boat relay races at Elephant Butte Lake State Park.
The Taos Mountain Balloon Rally is a more intimate event with less fanfare, but definitely not lacking in spectacular views. The event occurs at sunrise with natural light and color bursting beyond the mountain range, making the sky just an epic setting for the balloons to lift into.
Tourists and locals can join in the festivities or just enjoy the view and every year they come in droves to do so.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network.
