Solar energy is one of the most convenient, easily accessible forms of alternative energy, as it is simple yet abundant. When the phone case has access to sunlight, it can store a sizable chunk of energy. Of course, this can be a problem for users in cities like Seattle, which gets a measly 71 days of sunshine per year. When sunlight is inaccessible, users rely on previously generated energy or simply plug their phone in the old-fashioned way.
Several cases have an emergency solar charging feature, like the EnerPlex case, but none are entirely detached from conventional energy in the same way SUNNY is.
