Sometimes when you’re out on a camping trip you wish you could trade in your tent for a hammock, like when the ground is muddy and wet, or vice versa. Some poor folks even try packing one of each. Now, with the Blue Ridge Camping Hammock from Lawson, you can have it your way without all the extra weight.
The Blue Ridge Camping Hammock is essentially a two-in-one hammock and tent that can either be suspended from the trees on placed on the ground and used as a traditional tent. It’s the best of both worlds!
The hammock body is made of rip-stop nylon and poly-pack cloth durable enough to hold your weight while the top is covered with a net canopy to keep out the bugs, whether they be the winged or creepy crawly variety. It comes equipped with a spreader bar to keep the bottom taut as you hang, but the straps for hanging are not included, which seems a little off.
However, it’s able to prevent rain from blowing up from underneath and comes with two inside storage pockets as well as an o-ring from which to hang a light, which is pretty cool. The stuff sack is included so it’ll pack up and fit snugly into your pack until you need it.
At $169.99, the price tag is a little hefty, especially for something missing one of the most important components, but you can always use some webbing if you don’t want to fork out the extra cash for the straps.
You can buy the Blue Ridge Camping Hammock online now or find it at most outdoor retail stores.
