Many of us have fond memories of riding in the “way back” of a station wagon as a kid. Thanks to Buick, there’s now a chance to relive those memories — but with a much fancier version of the throwback favorite.

Buick bills its 2018 Regal Tour X as a “luxury wagon,” an apt description for the stretched-out version of the Regal sedan. It also represents a return of sorts to the category for the car maker, which hasn’t made a wagon since the 1990s. But they’ve added a slew of impressive features to this vehicle, making it the perfect choice for families or adventurers.

The car is roomy and comfortable, and it drives like a dream. The long body is great for hauling gear for outdoor activities or stashing a ton of groceries. The trunk is so large a couple could easily camp in it, and likely do so with comfort. In these ways, the car feels like a crossover, with a sporty feel as practical as it is pretty. The Buick Regal TourX is a looker: No one will make fun of you for getting some sort of throwback car as this vehicle is sleek and modern.

Bells and whistles make the car even more fun to drive, like the hands-free power liftgate for the trunk (so you can open the trunk if your hands are full), massive sunroof, keyless open and ignition, heated seats and steering wheel, and lots of great connectivity features for your phone. Luxury wagon, indeed.
