Celebrate the Holidays in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Feeling the urge to get away for one last trip before the holidays? Stick your toes in the sand while still remaining festive with a trip to Myrtle Beach. There’s plenty on tap between now and Christmas.

Winter Wonderland at the Beach is a free nightly light display on the boardwalk. Stroll for about a mile to take in the scenery through Jan. 3. Through Jan. 4, head to Ripley’s Aquarium for the attraction’s Festival of Trees, where 55 state- and territory-themed holiday trees are on display.

If you still need to do a little bit of gift shopping, try The Market Common or Broadway at the Beach, where the holiday spirits are up and you’re bound to find something unique for that difficult-to-shop-for person on your list.

As for where to stay, book the Kingston Resorts Humbug Suite, decked out in Grinch-like finery through Jan. 3. A stay comes with a welcome treat, bar credit and holiday gift.

“Myrtle Beach is where generations of families and friends reconnect with what matters most,” said Stuart Butler, president, Visit Myrtle Beach. “The holidays here have a feeling all their own, full of community, reflection and simple joy that makes this place so special. Whether it’s watching the lights along the boardwalk, catching a favorite show or just taking a quiet walk by the water, there’s something about this time of year that reminds people why they keep coming back.”
