Group travel is nothing new. For years it has served as a great way to see amazing places with a knowledgeable tour guide and a few friends-to-be. Group travel meets formalized conventions with Curiosity Retreats, a travel experience that joins like-minded individuals in exotic locales to exchange knowledge and engage in topical discussions.
For one week, a select number of participants will meet experts from all over the world and enjoy seminars involving science, technology, civilization and the human spirit. The experts (also called “luminaries”) include scholars, scientists, visionaries and trendsetters who have contributed considerably in their fields. Examples of past topics are Eurocopter Mechanics in a helicopter hangar, The Science of Happiness and Frontiers of Science.
Attendees will also have the option to explore local recreational activities and enjoy artistic, musical, culinary and professional presentations. Yoga classes, cocktail hours and wine tastings are interspersed in the schedule to provide an element of relaxation to an otherwise intellectual week.
Curious children also can attend with their parents and attend Curiosity Camp while their parents attend the Curiosity Retreats.
Curiosity Retreats kicked off in 2014 with two retreats at Gateway Canyons Resort and Spa in Colorado. The 2015 retreat will take place at the same venue from June 28 to July 3.
