Choosing a Buffet In Las Vegas

Tips / Destination

Las Vegas is famous for its buffets, but there are so many available you should really give it a think before you simply walk into one. The more you pay the less riffraff you’re likely to be dine with. Additionally, a higher-priced buffet will see you spending less time with those that have lost their shirts at the slots or on the tables. For example, $1.99 buffets, of which few remain, are proof of knowing when you should hold them and know when to fold them.

Be logical, if you’re interested in a massive seafood spread, expect to spend at least $30 and beyond. It’s not as if Las Vegas is near any real body of water, as it’s in the middle of a desert. As prone to getting us ill as seafood can be, do you really want all you can eat oysters (it only takes one bad one), crab legs, shrimp and lobster for less than $10? Yes, casinos largely take a hit on their buffets because they want your money on the tables, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do your part by opening up your wallet a bit.

If you’re headed to an all-you-can-drink buffet, either included or with an extra charge, don’t have plans for the next day. Your mimosas will likely be made with average (at best) cava or Prosecco and that’s a recipe for disaster. I’m not telling you where you should dine, but this list might help.
