Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.

Sleepy Hollow and neighboring Tarrytown are small enough to not overwhelm you with things to see and do. You can easily explore the entire town in a day, with stops at the most famous points of interest, including Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Its proximity to New York City also make it easy for a quick trip if you live in NYC, or are visiting for the millionth time.

Galveston, Texas

A skip and a jump from Houston, Galveston is a beautiful little Gulf Coast beach city. With lots of history and lots of good food, it’s worth a daytrip, even if you have to fly in from somewhere else.

Sedona, Ariz.

Near Flagstaff, Sedona offers gorgeous scenery. It’s a perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts, especially those who are itching for a good hike. If you’re not looking to get too much dirt under your fingernails; however, the area also has some nice spas for a day of relaxation and pampering.

Salem, Mass.

This northeastern destination isn’t only great around Halloween for its witchy history. Salem can be a great one-day side trip from Boston and offers lots of early American history, as well as a steady line-up of events and festivals.
