Sometimes the best art a city has to offer isn’t located within the walls of a museum. Cities around the world are home to remarkable street art. The unique works truly represent the cultural make-up of that particular city. These cities contain our favorite street art collections.

Austin

For a uniquely Austin experience, visit HOPE Outdoor Gallery. The multi-level structure is covered in graffiti by artists from all over the world. Visitors are encouraged to bring spray paint to contribute to the ever-changing gallery.

Berlin has an eclectic collection of growing and changing outdoor art. A section of the iconic Berlin Wall still stands. Known as the East Side Gallery, the dozens of paintings act as a tribute to freedom.

Popular street artist Banksy made a name for himself in London. Many of his works are scattered throughout the city, along with other evolving pieces from up-and-coming artists. Shoreditch is one of the city’s most popular neighborhoods for viewing street art.

Urban Cowboy, a design-forward boutique hospitality brand, now brings its maximalist aesthetic to New York City through a collaboration with Collective Retreats Governors Island, a 6-acre luxury “glamping” retreat just an eight-minute ferry ride from Lower Manhattan.
