Sometimes the best art a city has to offer isn’t located within the walls of a museum. Cities around the world are home to remarkable street art. The unique works truly represent the cultural make-up of that particular city. These cities contain our favorite street art collections.
Austin
For a uniquely Austin experience, visit HOPE Outdoor Gallery. The multi-level structure is covered in graffiti by artists from all over the world. Visitors are encouraged to bring spray paint to contribute to the ever-changing gallery.
Berlin
Berlin has an eclectic collection of growing and changing outdoor art. A section of the iconic Berlin Wall still stands. Known as the East Side Gallery, the dozens of paintings act as a tribute to freedom.
London
Popular street artist Banksy made a name for himself in London. Many of his works are scattered throughout the city, along with other evolving pieces from up-and-coming artists. Shoreditch is one of the city’s most popular neighborhoods for viewing street art.
Philadelphia
The City of Brotherly Love boasts a thriving mural scene. The Mural Arts Program was first established in the mid-1980s as an anti-graffiti effort. The dozens of murals throughout Philadelphia reflect the city’s complex identity. Multiple tour options are available.
