If you are looking for a less than typical destination to tie the knot, Peru could be the place.
The South American nation has beautiful coastlines which rise to the jagged peaks of the Andes before descending again into the Amazon rainforest. With such a diversity of landscapes, there are plenty of options to consider.
Most people will choose to get married in the capital city of Lima or the beautiful Andean city of Cusco. Both are full of modern amenities and plenty of charming venues to make your special day extra special.
If you want to go further off the beaten track, consider the stunning colonial city of Arequipa. It’s a tourist hub with great transport links and hotels, but it’s still small enough to retain some village-like charm.
Another option is a luxurious wedding at a jungle lodge near the city of Iquitos. However, be warned the heat and humidity could be too much for some guests at certain times of the year.
Peru is a huge country, but it has a well-developed transport network fanning out from Lima. The capital is served by hundreds of flights from throughout the Americas, and there are connections on to Cuzco. Other destinations within the country are served by the bus network, and many vehicles have reclining airline-style seats for your comfort.
Peru remains a cheap country to visit and your guests are sure not to forget their time here.
