Weddings / Wedding

With the Caribbean island likely to fully open up to U.S. visitors in the near future, Cuba could suddenly become a hot destination for wedding parties.

The country offers a taste of the Caribbean just a short distance from Florida. Thanks to the economic blockade, Cuba has been something of a forbidden fruit for U.S. travelers, and that could drive demand even further.

If you are thinking about a destination wedding in Cuba, check out the Iberostar Parque Central. The 5-star hotel is situated in the middle of Havana, with all of its crumbling colonial charm.

For a more relaxed country wedding, try the Melia Cayo Santa Maria. This venue is perfect for beach lovers, who will love the spectacular white sand.

Cuba offers plenty of attractions to entertain your guests after the ceremony, from picturesque tobacco farms in Vinales to UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the colonial city of Trinidad. Years of relative isolation mean the country can feel like it is stuck in time, and it is a truly romantic place to spend time.

As it stands, U.S. citizens can only visit the island as part of an organized group on a charter flight. However, commercial flights are expected to begin this fall, making connections easy from across the United States.

Be one of the first of your friends to organize a wedding in Cuba, and spend your special day in a truly special place.

After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
