Trends / Food & Drink

This new and innovative way to wine and dine is sweeping across the globe. Dinner in the Sky is offering these exciting, once-in-a-lifetime, high-dining services in 45 countries.

Not only do you get to enjoy dinner while suspended over beautiful sites in hundreds of cities all over the world, but Dinner in the Sky also offers business partnerships and opportunities for cohosting events such as sporting events, concerts, promotional events, sky-high lounges and even small weddings — all of which happens on a platform suspended 50 meters above ground by a giant crane.

Dinner in the Sky opened in 2006 when Belgian company Hakuna Matata, a communications agency specialized in gourmet pleasures, and The Fun Group, a company specialized in amusement park installations deploying cranes, partnered and built the first flying dinner table. Ever since, they expanded the business and held more than 5,000 events. This may not sound like a lot over the course of about 10 years, but they continue to grow and recently opened up business in Dubai.

Dinner will run approximately $300 per person. The price will vary based on the type of event hosted; however, it may still be too steep for the majority of the population. Because it is unique and of opulent taste, perhaps the presence in Dubai will have more success.
