As someone who suffers from motion sickness, I dread the option of muscling through or taking a pill — like Dramamine — that will make me unbearably sleepy. Even the non-drowsy versions seem to knock me out for hours. It’s a poor tradeoff, the lesser of two uncomfortable, adventure-ruining evils.

The ReliefBand is a welcome piece of technology. The product fits around your wrist and is designed to help alleviate nausea associated with motion or morning sickness.

The band is clinically proven and FDA approved. It’s a drug-free way of alleviating unwelcome symptoms, and it has no side effects. The product claims to work within minutes and, by all accounts, that is an accurate estimate.

Users can adjust the band to fit the intensity of nausea on a scale of 1 to 5. The band delivers gentle pulses to the median nerve at the P6 pressure point located on the underside of the wrist. The pulses essentially tell the brain to turn off the nausea.

The relief band also needs connectivity gel to work — the gel is unobtrusive and helps the device work, and also makes it more comfortable to use. Overall, the process is easy, straightforward and effective.
