Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

One look at Pinterest or Instagram and you’ll see photo after photo of train adventures in India. Books have been written about them and histories decided — their ability to connect so many villages even enabled the success of Ghandi’s movement.

Though captivating photographically, trains in India are actually also quite practical modes of travel. They run constantly and are easy to navigate from city to city. Not to mention, they are cheaper than cabs and more reliable than buses. With the increase in curiosity about the country delivering so much influence in the health and fitness world, trains are also seeing a spike in popularity from curious wanderers.

Today, some trains have changed very little, like the memorably crowded sleeper class, while others have transformed to being comfortably air-conditioned. Some of the more popular destinations, like the route between New Delhi and Agra, have express trains which cut the time significantly. Not all destinations have different styles of trains, but the attendants will help with any ticketing questions.

After filling out the ticket form, shoving through the lines and safely securing luggage nearby, enjoying the landscape of the diverse country while sipping chai provided every 20 minutes is what keeps drawing travelers back.
