If you’ve ever begun to research an African safari, you’ll quickly realize it’s not as easy as picking a country and choosing whatever safari excursion that country has to offer. Not only are there variations in countries, schedules, lengths of stay and included amenities, but there also are prices, proximity and previous participant reviews to consider.
To help you narrow down the search for your perfect safari, James on Safaris created a quiz that will help you focus on what you’re really after when it comes to observing Africa’s wildlife and landscapes.
The survey asks you whether you have a specific animal you’d like to see, such as lions, zebras, leopards or elephants. You’ll also be able to give your opinions on your style of travel (cautious, easygoing, adventurous), whether you’d be up for small plane transport, how you feel about malaria (avoiding the areas altogether versus taking the recommend medication) and finally your budget (tight, spend on quality, splurge on the best).
The results page will list a few suggestions for your specific wants and needs, and will advise you on the best times of the year to embark on these treks. From this page, you can also learn the best ways to access these areas (the name of the nearest airport and how you would then transport yourself to the base camp) and what nearby attractions you may be able to tack on to your itinerary (e.g., Victoria Falls, Okovango Delta).
When it comes time to book your first African safari or if you need help planning your second or third, James on Safari’s can aid in reminding you what a safari may entail and help you prepare on all levels.
