On a recent trip to Seattle I was astonished at how much there is to do in the city, even on a budget. I rented a car and drove around the city, seeing the sites and enjoying the beautiful scenery, but I was shocked at the price of parking just about anywhere I tried to go.
Luckily, there are some easy-to-manage tricks to finding ways around this parking dilemma so you can enjoy the Emerald City without breaking the bank in parking fees alone.
Check out Downtown Seattle’s parking website to get up-to-date information on every lot and price available throughout the downtown area. Knowing where to park before you get there will save you valuable time and reduce the frustration that comes from wandering the city’s maze of one-way streets looking for parking.
Another great trick is to download the BestParking app to your Android or iPhone. The free app not only shows you the cheapest parking lots in town but you can book your spot through the app as well, saving time and hassle.
Find your spot and keep it, whenever possible. Many of Seattle’s downtown attractions are located close to each other so pick your spot wisely to maximize your parking expenses. Go for a lot with a flat rate where you can leave your car for a significant amount of time.
