Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

Decreasing violence away from the border of the United States, nearly 22 pesos to the U.S. dollar and the ability to make your way around in style given the country’s strong infrastructure makes first-class bus travel in Mexico a fantastic way to see a delightful country.

While the buses themselves are terrifically comfortable and a great way to get around for mere peanuts, make sure you do your best to get there ahead of time or book online if traveling with someone else lest you run the risk of being split up on other ends of the bus. While this has happened to me numerous times, I don’t remember ever running across anyone unwilling to switch seats to accommodate the two of us. Despite what you’ve heard north of the border of Mexico, it’s a nation of delightful people.

The last time my companion swapped with someone on the way from Cuernavaca to Mexico City, a lovely 1.5 hours on a Pullman Bus, we had seats with a four-person desk and ridiculously fast internet, As I had a deadline, this surely made up for traveling backs to the front. If you suffer from motion sickness, make sure to ask you’re not put in one of these seats.

After that leg was done, we had two more buses equipped with fast internet and in-chair entertainment, and we traveled 400 miles and paid $35 for the remainder of our luxury ride to Juanaguato. Mexican bus companies could teach U.S. airlines a thing or two.
