It’s a problem experienced by every single human multiple times in life: finding a public toilet when nature calls. It can be worse when traveling; you’re in an unfamiliar place, and there can be language and cultural barriers that might make it difficult to find a place to use the bathroom.
Luckily there’s a new app that aims to solve this essential dilemma. Flush – Public Toilet Finder has come to the rescue with a “fast and simple toilet finder.” The app lists tens of thousands of public toilets (200,000 and growing as of this writing) all over the world. And you can access the database either online or off, perfect for traveling internationally when you might not have cell service or WiFi access.
Directions are provided from your location to the chosen toilet via Google Maps. Just press the directions button, and instructions are queued up in an instant. The app also lets you know if there is a fee to use the toilet or if it’s available for free use. It also says whether you need a key and if there is disability access.
There are a few areas of needed improvement, but by and large the app is the best tool available right now to help in dire situations.
