Looking for a ride? Itching to try something besides Uber? BlaBarCar might be the next ride-sharing option to use. BlaBlaCar is an online community marketplace that helps connect drivers with empty seats in their vehicles to passengers looking for a ride. BlaBlaCar helps make traveling more social, economic and more efficient for all its customers.
In order to join BlaBlaCar, users must register and create a personal online profile. This profile includes ratings and reviews from other BlaBlaCar members, social network verification and rates of response.
According to BlaBlaCar, “Profiles of members show how much experience they have of the service, meaning those with more — known as “ambassadors” — attract more ride shares and, importantly, each user’s profile includes a ‘BlaBla’ measurement, which indicates how much they are willing to chat during a trip.”
Basically, users enter their departure date and destination then BlaBlaCar provides a list of drivers that might be going in your direction. Before booking their trip, riders have the option to ask the driver any questions before purchasing.
At this point, customers book and pay for their seat online. Riders will then get the driver’s phone number to arrange the final details, as well as the booking code. When the driver arrives, riders just need to provide their booking code, and then they’re on their way.
So next time you’re looking to travel somewhere, consider using BlaBlaCar!
