Looking for a way to climb above everyday stress? Free Spirit Spheres, located on Vancouver Island, B.C., offer a literal way to do just that. The handcrafted treehouse hotel rooms hang suspended along the forest canopy, offering visitors a chance to sleep with their heads in the foliage.
There are four individual spheres for rental and each has a name: Eve, Eryn, Gwynn and Melody. Spirit Spheres all have yacht-style interiors and are available for overnight rental for all 12 months. The rooms may hang high in a coniferous forest canopy, but they are far less rustic than spending a night in a tent; all rooms come equipped with heat and electricity. Showers, bedding, snacks and a sauna are also supplied.
Nearby attractions include Qualicum Beach, Mount Washington, Horne Lake Caves and Georgia Straight, making Vancouver Island an ideal stop for outdoors enthusiasts. The Mount Washington Alpine Resort makes a compelling incentive for visitors to take advantage of the Sphere’s year-round rental policy. Guided hiking tours are available in the summer months.
Rates are affordable for such a unique experience, but vary by the room. The price is reduced from the third night onwards, and the seventh night is free of charge.
