Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

The efficiency of German transportation is legendary throughout Europe, and the railway system is the envy of nations around the world.

Riding the rails is one of the best ways to see everything this expansive country has to offer, from the hip bars and cafes of Berlin in the north to the forests of Bavaria in the south. For long trips, it’s best to take the high-speed ICE trains, which travel at up to 186 mph, and you can get your hands on tickets for as little as €19. If you can’t stretch to that, look out for InterCity, EuroCity and InterRegio-Express services.

The best place to find information is on the Deutsche Bahn website, the company responsible for operating the railways. You can find it at bahn.com, and there are English translations.

There are lots of different ticket types available, from single journeys to travel passes. For travelers, the most popular are GRP Flexi, which gets you three, four, five, seven or 10 days of travel in one month, or the German Rail Youth Pass for travelers up to 25 years of age. A pair of adults traveling together can get a German Rail Twin Pass for discount fares.

Lines run all over the country and also boast great integration with rail systems from neighboring countries. You can easily get from London to Berlin in one day using ICE trains.

If you are planning a rail trip in Germany, check out the available passes to get the best fares.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
