Tips / Travel

It’s that time of the year again … maybe your birthday isn’t as exciting as it was when you were eight, but that’s no reason not to party. This year, celebrate your birthday with fabulous freebies!

While some local restaurants will offer you unadvertised free desserts on your birthday — singing waiters and all — many chain retailors will give you free gifts on your special day or during your birthday month.

Start off your morning with a free stack of IHOP pancakes. Grab a free six-inch sub and drink after joining the Subway Eat Fresh Club. Have an afternoon snack at Atlanta Bread; you get a free cookie on your birthday when you become a loyalty member.

Enjoy a free chocolate fondue for two on your birthday at The Melting Pot. If ice cream is more your style, sign up for Baskin Robin’s Birthday Club and get a free scoop on your birthday. Get a free Starbucks drink on your birthday when you join their loyalty program.

Almost all of these gifts require you to join the establishment’s email list or loyalty program, but these birthday freebies are worth it. Looks like you can have your cake and eat it too.
