If last month’s Winter Olympic Games in South Korea had you jonesing for an Olympic experience of your own, you might have the chance of your dreams at the St. Regis Deer Valley. This luxury hotel in Park City, Utah, will open a bobsledding experience for hopeful Olympians or those who just want to have their long-awaited Cool Runnings moment.
The experience is led by previous Olympians Valerie Fleming and Shauna Rohbock, both won silver medals in the sport. The athletes will lead tours around the 2002 Winter Olympic Park where the games were held 16 years ago.
As part of the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, the training session includes a 45-minute introduction from the athletes as well as the aforementioned tour. Then after a few safety demonstrations, visitors will be able to ride in a bobsled, followed by a medals ceremony. The bobsled course will feature 10 curves on which sleds can hit speeds of up to 70 mph. Those who opt for tamer Olympic experiences can also sign up for biathlon lessons to learn how to shoot and ski/snowshoe.
Advance reservations are required and the price is $175 per person.
