Make your next dining experience the most responsible possible by sticking to the Good Food 100 Restaurants list. The initiative, started by Good Food Media Network, aims to educate diners on which restaurants help build a better food system by supporting “good food” economies.
What is “good food?” Items good for every link in the food chain — the environment, eaters, restaurants, purveyors, producers, plants and animals. For example, restaurants must use dairy and egg products raised without the use of sub-therapeutic antibiotics, added hormones or confinement; fish and seafood wild or sustainably-farmed; and fruits and vegetables certified organic in order to even have a chance at ranking on the Good Food scale.
Good Food 100 Restaurants takes applications submitted by restaurants who offer their purchasing histories and undergo an interview process and rate them according to their percentage of “good food” purchases verses that of restaurants in the same category in the same region.
