Google Trips to Make Your Life Easier

It was just a matter of time before Google used the power of all of its services to bundle into an app that would make travel easier for you.

Late last month, Google formally unveiled its application Google Trips to help you from the receipt of your itinerary, AirBnB bookings, hotel reservations and other Google information from your searches to make your life easier when you’re on the road, whether you’re online or offline.

Essentially, assuming you’re an Android user or someone who uses Google’s products, the company has put together a really solid app for both Android and iOS that works from itinerary and reservation and provides editorial content on more than 200 cities worldwide with more promised to guide and suggest you around town as you travel.

Google Trip was not rushed as executives for the company will tell you, rather it was a product of two years of work to give travelers the best the company can offer before its launch.

While a data plan makes Trips more robust, you can download walking directions and maps along with background information and places you might find interesting well before you catch your first flight.

For now, if you have multiple Gmail accounts, forward all your travel-related emails to one of your accounts (until Google supports multiple accounts) and you’ll see the magic that Trips can work when you give it a chance.

Organization of your reservations is child’s play for Google, but its Things To Do section is nothing less than brilliant. It’s not reading your mind, it’s simply reading your email and remembering what you like from your search history.

If you’re worried about your privacy, Google Trips is not for you; however, if you already use any Google app, you know they are watching you and learning from you.
