Whether you own a car or are renting while traveling, prevent your tires from theft with a new anti-theft mobile app, RimTech, from Project Overlord.
Designed by former heads of Nokia’s Mobility and Global Positioning Technology department, RimTech revolutionizes anti-theft capabilities on vehicles with several integrated technologies designed to both protect and recover property on every front.

The innovative technology tells users when someone gets close to their tires, notifying them via their iPhone, Android, iPad or tablet. When a thief attempts to steal a wheel or wheels, a motion sensor is triggered, setting off an audible alarm to deter theft.
If a robber succeeds, the app then tracks stolen property to a radius of 10 feet, providing owners and local authorities with an address for recovery. A camera inside the wheel then snaps photos when triggered by light and sends pictures to the owner’s phone, increasing the ability to identify thieves.
The company launched a Kickstarter campaign last month, offering supporters an early bird price of $299 for the first 10,000 buyers. Following this, the product will retail for $329. The company’s production and development timeline calls for RimTech delivery to begin in October.
