The summer of 2019 will be filled with blockbuster hits. There are some recognizable brands that will perform well and some newcomers that might take the box office by surprise. The season is already starting strong with Marvel Studios finally releasing Avengers Endgame. This massive movie set box office records that likely won’t be touched for years. The film brings an end to the series and fans are not going to wait until it’s available on DVD. Endgame is going to jumpstart the season by bringing people to the movies and reminding them why it’s worth spending money to see a movie in theaters versus at home.
Following that film, Men in Black and The Lion King are opening this summer. Disney is doing a fantastic job recreating classic animated films for this generation. The Lion King is one of the most beloved and sure to be a hit. Most people thought Men in Black was finished after the last film, but the studio is bringing in some new actors to reignite the franchise. The film could go either way depending on the quality, but it already has a massive fan base anxious to see it.
Yesterday is a film that will be released in July. It began as an unknown, but the advertisement has racked up millions of views. The premise is a man finds himself in an alternate universe where the Beatles never existed and he’s the only one that knows their songs. He makes it big by recreating their songs for the public. With the Beatles such a massive success, this film was destined to get attention.
