Vacation rental search engine HomeToGo released the results of its Return to Travel study. The report reveals changes in travel behaviors as travelers begin to hit the road again.
With vaccine rollout well underway, 54 percent of U.S. travelers plan to take a trip within the first two months of getting vaccinated. Rest and relaxation is top of mind for travelers, with 63 percent of respondents looking for a quiet getaway instead of an action-packed trip. Cleanliness and flexibility are important for travelers. Fifty-five percent of those surveyed said “extended clean and disinfection” was the most important factor when booking a rental. “Free cancellation” was a top consideration for 45 percent of respondents.
Eighty percent of respondents said they saved money by not traveling in 2020 and of those, 55 percent intend to put it toward a future trip. Forty-two percent of respondents plan to take more overnight trips in 2021 compared to before the pandemic. Travel improves the mental health of 92 percent of those surveyed.
HomeToGo collected data from 1,298 respondents ages 21 and older in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain and Germany. The survey was conducted online in April 2021. For more information on methodology and full survey results, visit the website.

Insta FeedAre You Ready for the Final Switch to Real ID?
Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
