Weddings / Honeymoons

For a honeymoon filled with fairytale castles, miles of green countryside and romantic cliffs overlooking the expansive ocean, look no further than the Emerald Isle. The lively cities and small towns of Ireland welcome new married couples longing to escape modernity and embrace simplicity.

Beginning in Dublin, newlyweds can soak up Irish tradition by embarking on a rousing pub crawl or visiting the famed Guinness brewery. Under the cloudy skies, roam the cobblestone streets in the heart of the city, and then pop into any pub and chat up the bartender for a brief lesson in Irish history and culture.

After a few days in the capital, consider renting a car and heading south. Caress the southern coastline as you explore the medieval town of Kilkenny, the university town of Cork and the natural park–nestled Killarney where hiking opportunities abound.

Continue up the western coast into County Clare for a glimpse of Ireland’s main attraction: the Cliffs of Moher. Head north and splurge on a room at Ashford Castle, an estate on the banks of Lough (Lake) Corrib, and enjoy a night of royal luxury with your new love. Round out your trip with a few nights in Galway, a charming harbor town with some of the country’s best traditional live music.
