Bachelor parties and beer are a pairing as old as time itself. For stag groups wishing to enjoy a send-off complete with plenty of sudsy brews, Munich, the beer capital of the world, is a smart place to try.
Munich is known for its dozens of beer gardens, like the famous Hirschgarten. This restaurant and watering hole seats up to 8,000 guests at a time, and offers traditional German banquet fare like pork knuckles and rotisserie chicken.
Another beer-related activity in Munich is a ride on the always popular “beer bike.” These bar counters on wheels are steered through the city streets by a guide, while being peddled by the glass-clinking patrons.
For the sport-loving stag parties, Allianz Arena can be a great place to check out. Here, visitors can take a tour of the monstrous soccer stadium, or become part of the action by catching a match during the season. Not to worry — they sell beer here too.
Ideally, the best time for bachelor party groups to visit the city is in mid-fall, when the annual Oktoberfest comes around. Here, friends can ride rollercoasters and Ferris wheels, play carnival games, enjoy the German street food, listen to live music — and, of course — drink plenty of beer.
