For friends looking for something truly out of the ordinary for their bachelor party, Phuket may be the perfect destination. This lush and beach-laden island off of the southernmost section of Thailand combines the placidity of a tropical setting with the excitement of a rules-free city. Most locals welcome the “bucks” — their nickname for bachelors — and their economy is designed with foreign groups like this in mind.
Bachelor crowds can enjoy leisure activities like golf, wakeboarding, ATV tours, go-kart racing, zorbing and even watching a professional Muay Thai fight at one of Phuket’s many venues.
High atop a hill on the southern end of the island is Big Buddha — Phuket’s 150-foot high and 80-foot wide religious statue. From the base of the colossal piece of craftsmanship, visitors can find an incredible 360-degree view of the island.
Perhaps the most profound experience that can be appreciated in Phuket is a canoe or sailboat trip down Phang Nga Bay. This photogenic slice of paradise features enormous limestone columns towering over the green water, as well as a number of secluded beaches. A daytrip across the bay might be just what a bachelor group needs after a long night of festivities.
