Weddings are an expensive proposition not just for the bride and groom, but also the guests. Sometimes you simply don’t have the money to go all out. That’s okay.
Remember, the wedding gift registry is just a suggestion and not a requirement unless you’re dealing with a Bridezilla. In that case, ignore this advice because nothing is going to save you. Otherwise, it’s time to put your creativity to good use.
Instead of throwing down big bucks on expensive crystal, go with something a little more practical like pottery or kitchenware. Expensive stuff is cute and all, but most of it’s just going to sit in a cabinet and never see the light of day once the reception is over.
You can also make something special for the happy couple. Put together a photo album or CD of their relationship highlights. Get engraved glassware for their dinner table. Consider buying decoration for their house from a thrift store or flea market. There are always great hidden treasures to be found in unusual places.
If you’re really tight for cash, you can even re-gift something once given to you. We won’t tell anyone.
Honestly, they’ll probably just be grateful for your friendship and even a simple card will do. Remember, it’s the thought that counts.
