August marks St. Lucia Chocolate Heritage Month. The island’s chocolate legacy dates back to their thriving cocoa industry in the 1700s. Still produced today, native cocoa is popular in both sweet and savory cuisine. Local spas get in on the trend offering chocolate-infused treatments. Visitors can also go on cocoa plantation tours to experience the process firsthand.

“Travelers can discover sweet treats and decadent eats when they visit St. Lucia during Chocolate Heritage Month,” said Tracey Warner-Arnold, deputy director of tourism, St. Lucia. “The celebration of our chocolate heritage, along with St. Lucia’s growing reputation as a culinary destination, adds another layer of fun that visitors can taste only in Saint Lucia.”

Many hotels on St. Lucia offer special rates and experiences for satisfying your sweet tooth. Check out the sweet deals at these resorts: Anse Chastanet Resort; Calabash Cove Resort & Spa; Capella Marigot Bay Resort & Marina; Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa; Crystals St. Lucia; Fond Doux Plantation & Resort; Hotel Chocolat; Jade Mountain; Ladera Resort; Mango Beach Inn; Marigot Beach Club; The Royal St. Lucia; SeaGrape Apartments; St. James Club Morgan Bay; Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort; The Landings St. Lucia; Villa Beach Cottages and La Dauphine Estate; Villa Capri; and Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort.
