Imagine the situation. You’re on vacation and you need to take money out. This can be a stressful part of the trip. Once you finally find an ATM, you don’t understand a word on it. You’re not sure what buttons to press but finally you get some money out, and it turns out to be a large amount. Now what?

The worst-case scenario would be having all that money and being robbed. So, you need to leave it in your hotel. Some hotels won’t have a safe, and some won’t even feel comfortable taking so much money, and many times you yourself won’t even feel comfortable leaving the hotel in charge of all your money. If this is the case, then you will have to resort to hiding it in your hotel room.

If you have an old book you finished reading you don’t want anymore, be like a secret agent and cut a hole in the middle of the pages to create a place to hide your money. Place it back in your bag, or even leave it unassumingly on your bed. Unless your thief doubles as a bookworm, you should be fine.

Try unhooking the shower rod and seeing if you can place it in the end of the tubing. Make sure you place your money in a plastic bag so you don’t lose any bills or get your money soaking wet. If that doesn’t work, then place the plastic bag inside a bottle of shampoo and make sure it’s not empty otherwise housekeeping might throw it away.

Consider placing your money in a sealed envelope and taping to the bottom of your bed, the table or even the bottom of a chair. Just don’t forget where you taped it!
