ATLNext, the airport’s $6 billion capital improvement program, is modernizing Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport over the next 20 years. Simply put, we launched a total renovation to improve your entire travel and guest experience at ATL. It’s our goal to meet — and exceed — evolving passenger needs, and ATLNext is the solution.

Construction is underway on the centerpiece of the Domestic Terminal modernization: Two gigantic canopies spanning the North and South entrances connect to both parking decks. Once completed in late 2018, the canopies will protect guests from the elements while providing a dramatic entrance to the airport. Totaling the length of nearly three football fields, they will transform the look and feel of the terminal, and even illuminate at night.

This work will have minimal impact on visitors and guests, as there will be constant access to parking facilities and pedestrian crossings. Find out how ATLNext could impact your travel plans and stay a step ahead with ongoing renovation updates at next.atl.com.

Ways to Sweat Less While Traveling

Traveling to exotic locales often means contending with unusual weather. Americans tend to enjoy a fairly moderate climate, which means your body doesn’t always adapt when you head to places like Africa or South America. So, how do you keep yourself from sweating and stinking up a new city? Try these tips.

Work and Play in Italy

ONCE THE FINAL MEETING WRAPS and the last contract is signed and sealed with a handshake, what’s next? Do you catch a flight back home or do you take advantage of the destination? If your next business trip is to Italy, we suggest adding a few more days to explore the country’s most amazing hot spots. Make time for more than a mouthwater- ing Italian meal in these three cities.

Hotel Joule

I arrived in Dallas on a cloudy afternoon and, luckily, traffic was light as I drove my rental car into the city in just less than 30 minutes. The Hotel Joule was built in the 1920s in the Neo-Gothic style and is a city landmark in the heart of the business district.

Enjoy the Open Road on Your Terms

For most of us, time in the car is “me time.” You can listen to that podcast you’re captivated by, blast that pop song and sing along at the top of your lungs or listen to the next chapter in that biography e-book you’re almost finished. A road trip only amplifies those opportunities. So, next time you’re traveling by road, take the wheel and take control. Opt for a rental car on your next vacation, rather than a rideshare, taxi or public transportation, and enjoy the open road on your own terms.

Under $100: El Raval, Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona’s Ciutat Vella (or “Old City”) is often packed with tourists who wander up and down Las Ramblas spending way too many euros on overpriced paella and sangria. But the border neighborhood of El Raval is just a few steps from the bustle, but worlds away from the exorbitant prices.
