What if you could combine the fun of travel with the convenience and coolness factor of a tiny home, but without the need to rent a pricey homestay that doesn’t include all the amenities you love from hotels? One new concept from hospitality design firm OBMI might be just what you’re looking for.

The OBMI team recently revealed a hospitality concept christened Habitare. Designed for hotel use, Habitare structures intend to exist within a destination’s current landscape without disrupting sensitive ecosystems, making these structures ideal for use in destinations that might currently be off-limits to overnight guests (at least those who don’t want to rough it in a tent). There are two models currently on display, including one designed for panoramic views via one giant, glass-front wall, and one designed to fit into particularly small, narrow spaces.

Some of the coolest features, though? OBMI says these structures are designed to be moved as needed (leaving behind minimal impact) and adjusted for hotels’ individual needs, and are the ultimate in environmentally conscious luxury.

As travel trends uptick to learn into remote, disconnected experiences, Habitare is a portable, lightweight design solution that provides travelers access to some of the worlds most awe-inspiring, natural landscapes,” said Muhammad Moussa, design director, MENA, OBMI.

Are You Ready for the Final Switch to Real ID?

Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
