Trends / Spring Break

Israel is one of the biggest raving capitals in the world thanks to its undying love for psytrance music. If you’re planning on a “psy”ghtseeing tour though the country, check out these DJs to get a primer on the sound.

Astral Projection

Hailing from Tel Aviv, Astral Projection is an electronic music band that started Trust in Trance Records, one of the early pioneers of the psy scene in Israel.

Sesto Sento

This DJ group from Afula is part of Israel’s new generation of psytrance artists. Besides touring all over the world, they have remix credits with the likes of Moby, The Police, Depeche Mode and Fatboy Slim.

Astrix

Astrix’s melodic style of psytrance is a blend of the driving full-on sound with the more club-friendly sound of trance.

Skazi / Asher Swissa

Skazi is a live psytrance project created by Asher Swissa, a producer and DJ who started in the punk scene before creating his unique blend of rock and rave music.

Ace Ventura

With a famous composer as a father and a job in post-production, Yoni Oshrat took the moniker Ace Ventura (Ventura is his old family name) to begin producing psytrance in the late 90s.

Infected Mushroom

As one of Israel’s most famous exports, Infected Mushroom is one of the most recognizable psytrance artists in the world, though more recent albums explored a variety of other genres.
