Portland, Ore., has a strong history and relevance to those in the LGBT community. The city’s LGBT history goes back to the first settlers in the area, with reports of indigenous people celebrating gay culture. Equity Foundation is a grant writing organization with the purpose of funding groups and programs advancing the LGBT community. Cascade AIDS Project is a community-based provider of HIV services, education and advocacy.
