Whether we’re talking environmental issues, cannabis or social issues, the Front Range has always been a bit ahead of the times with its progressive views. Denver is no exception, perhaps leading the charge, and a fantastic place for LGBT visitors.
Denver PrideFest is routinely voted one of the Top 10 gay pride events in the United States, thanks to a plethora of activities including the annual parade and Big Gay 5K. A month later, the Colorado Gay Rodeo rolls into town.
For a night out, be sure to check out The Wrangler for a more laidback atmosphere or Tracks if you want to get your groove on.
When looking for a bite, head over to Sassafras American Eatery to dip into one of the handmade milkshakes with some truly quirky flavor profiles. Avanti Food & Beverage is also a great choice: It’s a revamped warehouse with mini-restaurants packed inside for you to jump around and taste.
For shopping, you’ll want to hit up the Cherry Creek Shopping Center and Cherry Creek North for the best the city has to offer. Overall, Denver is a city meant to be explored outdoors, so take plenty of time to walk through the city’s numerous parks and make your way into the foothills of the Rockies for some adventurous exploration while you’re in town. It’s truly one of the most beautiful places in the country.
