London is home to some of the most gruesome and infamous crimes in the world. Jack the Ripper terrorized London 130 years ago. Today, that legacy lives on through a rich culture of true crime-related attractions and tours.
True crime fans that are a little less picky about the subject matter of their tours will find a lot to love here. The Murder Mile Walks were voted one of the top three themed walks London has to offer.
The walk takes guests through some of Soho’s most notorious murder cases. Subjects of this walk include Dennis Nilen, the WW2 Slasher, the Blackout Ripper and Jack the Ripper.
The two-hour tour departs every Sunday at 11 a.m.
Jack the Ripper Tours with “Ripper-Vision”
True crime fans that like a little more specificity to their tours should opt for the Jack the Ripper Tour. This tour is roughly two hours and includes personal projectors to help guests see London as it existed in the late 1880s.
The tour stops at each of the canonical murder scenes of Jack the Ripper, and even a few of the unconfirmed ones as well. Every tour guide is a full enthusiast and Ripperologist, making sure tourists always receive the best tour possible.
The Jack the Ripper Tour is described as the most up-to-date Jack the Ripper tour in London.
The Crime Museum, or The Black Museum, is a museum maintained by and for the metropolitan police of London. The museum is open only by invitation, which means only police officers and other well-connected folks can get in.
Luckily, a 45-minute documentary taking interested folks inside was produced and is available at the above website. The documentary is the only way laypeople are able to see inside London’s Black Museum.
