All it takes for a vacation to turn the corner to unbearably uncomfortable is the dreaded sunburn caused by not wearing enough sunscreen or skin protection. Even in cooler climates, the sun can be harsh during the day hours and can wreak havoc on your skin without warning. Forgetful travelers who neglect to pack sunscreen in their luggage may be caught with surprising results from the relentless rays of the sun, but those who remember to toss in a sun wrap from Magellan’s travel gear will be one step ahead of their protection-less pals.
The breezy wrap can be worn as a shawl, scarf or makeshift cardigan sweater as the sleeves extend to cover exposed arms.
Although it may seem unwise to tote a wrapping scarf during hot weather with strong sun, the wrap is made of a lightweight spandex/Tencel material making it appropriate for all temperatures. The fabric has been treated with an SPF level of 30 to protect wearers from the harsh rays of the sun. When not used for protection from the sun, the wrap can also be worn as temperatures fluctuate on planes and buses, as they are wont to do.
The sun protection wrap is available in one size to fit all in four colors (black, teal, white and vivid violet) and can be purchased on Magellan’s website for $85, before shipping and handling.
