Reviews / Restaurant

Pizza restaurants are ten-a-penny in this corner of southeast London, but Mamma Dough manages to stand out.

Set on a main road near the station, it’s certainly not the setting that makes Mamma Dough noteworthy. To understand why people love this place, you’ll have to wait until the pizzas are served.

The thin-crust pizzas are cooked to perfection with just the right amount of crispiness, plus the toppings are of high quality. Drizzle some of the homemade chili sauce on top of the spicy salami pizza and you’re in for a real treat. The vegetarian option also went down well, with generous amounts of toppings on both pizzas.

Mamma Dough also serves a wide range of cocktails, beers and wines to go with your food. Try the Aperol spritz for a refreshing summer drink, or order one of the local craft beers.

All in all, the service was fast and efficient, the food was great and the drinks made a great accompaniment. If you want a good pizza that doesn’t break the bank, Mamma Dough is a great spot. It’s also close to the bars and clubs of Peckham if you want to go for a night out.

The bill came to $100 for four people with a cocktail each.
