Getting lost while traveling is pretty much a given unless you are blessed with an immaculate sense of direction. Even with the latest global positioning technology and a plethora of mapping options, it is not always easy to navigate a new city’s transportation system. That is where a new mobile app called MetrO steps in to take control and show you the way.

Available for iOS devices, MetrO is a free app that helps users find their way through more than 400 international public transit systems. Once the app is downloaded to an iPhone or iPad, users can enter the cities to which they will be traveling and suggested routes will generate from the point of origin. Possible means of transit include the subway, bus, tram or major railway, depending on the city.

Suggested itineraries will populate and rank based on time of travel, fewest transfers, price or any other assortment the user selects. What’s more, the app does not require an internet connection or data which makes it ideal for international travel.

As public transit routes and schedules have the potential to change from day to day, MetrO maintains the most current information available to ensure users have the correct information generic transit websites may not provide.
