If you enjoy watching Boiler Room or Mixmag sessions, you might have noticed a particular brand of headphones popping up now and again. No, they’re not Beats, but instead a nondescript pair of cans produced in Denmark by a company called AIAIAI
.
Unlike Beats and Pioneer headphones, these don’t have logos to recognize them or even any colors. The company only makes headphones, and has earned rave reviews for its modular design, meaning every part is interchangeable and can be purchased separately, preventing you from having to throw out a pair due to a single faulty speaker or wire.
AIAIAI has come back with an updated version of their headphone system in the TMA-2, praised for its clean look, high-quality sound and configurability. AIAIAI has several preset models, but the real fun is using the website’s “configurator,” which will even calculate the frequency response of each combination of parts.
DJs, musicians, engineers and casual listeners can design their own pair of cans by visiting aiaiai.dk.
